Faith

Personal Statement of Faith

At six weeks of age, I was divinely delivered into the loving arms of Cain and Marie Davis, who faithfully raised me in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. They reared me in the church and solidified my training at home, diligently ensuring that I understood the Gospel at a very early age. My parents’ love and the life I lived with them were evidence of God’s lovingkindness to me. Because of the faithful love of my parents and the teaching of the gospel I received, I knew for certain that God was real and that Jesus Christ was His Son who died and was raised for the sins of man. At five years old, I professed this faith and was baptized into the body of believers. Since then, I have been an active member of the church of God and a student of His Word, in search of a deeper knowledge of the One True God.

Ministry Statement

Matthew 28:19–20 spells out the goal of ministry. The “Go” is an imperative command from Jesus to the disciples to spread the gospel of the resurrected Christ to every nation to baptize new believers, not just in water, but to immerse them in the knowledge of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and to teach them to obey the commands of God out of reverence and love for Him. As a present disciple of Christ, it is also my duty to tell everyone of the wonderful gospel of salvation through faith in Christ. I wholeheartedly aspire to encourage souls to believe in Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of humanity, to guard and teach every soul entrusted to me by God with all the wisdom of the gospel to present every one of these persons as perfect and complete in Christ Jesus, to equip these persons to passionately pursue their sanctification in Christ Jesus and to spread the gospel in their surrounding communities and the world abroad.

Doctrinal Belief

I believe that there is only one God that eternally exists in three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I believe in God the Father, who in His sovereignty created and rules over all things as Supreme Judge and Sustainer. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who emptied Himself of His divine power, took on human form, and descended to earth to offer eternal life to those who would repent and believe in Him. As the Son of God, Jesus is both fully God and fully man. I believe that He was crucified, certainly died and was buried, rose, and ascended to heaven, where He now waits at the right side of the Father for the time of His imminent return. I believe in the active presence of the Holy Spirit, the Helper, promised by the Son, who convicts, guides, regenerates, seals, and indwells believers. I believe the Bible to be the infallible and inspired Word of God, sufficient for the needs of the believer and the universal church, including growth in holiness and righteousness unto the Lord.
